Outstanding flat with fabulous hosts Sara and Simon! +ve - We booked self catering but Sara and Simon brought us fresh baked bread, cookies and handed us a plate of delicious blueberry pancakes as we were checking out. They were absolutely fantastic and fun to talk to. The apartment was the nicest place I’ve ever stayed, high end furnishings, luscious wool carpet, cool art work.
Home away from home Staying at Achalochan House felt like a home away from home but better views! Tastefully decorated, with quirky and personal touches that made the stay so much more memorable, quality linens, bedding & decor that supports local businesses & artists, and a fabulous breakfast, so filling you won't need to eat for the rest of the day and so delicious and esthetically pleasing, it will make you want to cry.Simon & Sara were generous hosts who went so far above & beyond with simple, beautiful & personal touches. Their warmth and kindness along with their home provides the perfect space to stay! Please do - you won't regret it! I will visit and stay there again and again!
How do you do better than perfect? If you could give more than 5 stars, I would. We stayed on the top floor. Fantastic views of the ocean on one side and baby sheep just born on the other. Bedrooms are spacious and each have a very nice private bathroom with an on demand shower. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. All amenities were first class and accommodating. So what give this place a Michelin star? The hosts. Simon and Sarah are way beyond usual and customary. Sarah had just made fresh hot bread when we first drove up and shared hot bread with smoked Gouda cheese with us. After a three hour drive on Scottish roads, fresh bread right out of the oven with good shot of whiskey is in order! Simon also knows the Isle of Skye like the back of his hand. He knew every good hike, restaurant, and historical place to visit and was delighted to share the info. Our visit could not have been better. I would book here again in a New York minute as we say in the states. Oh, one thing to remember, nothing to do with Achalochan, but be sure to make dinner reservations way in advance. Restaurants are a limited and book up early. But Simon and Sarah can steer you correctly to every one.
Perfect place for our trip to Skye Achalochan House was the perfect place for our trip to Skye - we couldn't recommend it enough. We stayed in the upstairs 3-bed apartment with family. Simon and Sara were the perfect welcoming hosts, providing many recommendations for us to make the most of our time on this beautiful island. The beds were so comfortable, and we loved waking up to a gorgeous view of the Loch. The apartment itself is so beautifully decorated and every amenity thought of. We particularly appreciated the fab ghd hairdryers in each room, and local soaps and treats.Thank you so much! Will definitely return ????
