Driving On Skye
There’s no getting away from it, in Season, Skye’s roads can be crowded, especially on the single track roads to some of the Tourist honeypots. Throw in the Island’s notorious pot holes, sheep meandering in the road and it can be a recipe for frustration. Breathe out, enjoy the view and remember you're here to relax 😉
- Drive on the left.
- Use the passing places to pull in for oncoming traffic.
- You may need to reverse back to the last Passing place.
- Queue of cars behind you? Pull in and let them pass.
- Slow right down for pot holes, they're expensive.
- Never park in passing places or Croft gateways.
- Verges can be soft, don't park on them, you may not get off!
- Wave and say "Thank You" to drivers that pull over or let you through passing places.
